Houstonian Medical Associates was established in 1978 as The Houstonian Preventive Medicine Center. Our objectives are:

1. to prevent morbidity and mortality from disease by early identification in an annual physical examination,

2. to delay the development of disease by educating the individual about lifestyle habits which increase the risks of disease, and

3. to provide individual recommendations to reduce the risk of disease.

Whereas, we initially provided comprehensive exams only to corporate executives, we now offer a wide range of services to all individuals (as many routine services are now covered by medical health insurance).

Last year alone we found four patients with early colon cancer, six patients with early prostate cancers and eight patients with coronary disease. These findings were all in asymptomatic executives whose disease, if fully developed, would have been an immeasurable personal and economic loss.

We take pride in the fact that we have been in the forefront of preventive medicine since 1978.
